UNITY — Each year, money through Saskatchewan Lotteries is gifted back into communities through their grant process, helping Saskatchewan residents of all ages be able to participate in various activities.

This year, the senior living facility, Parkview Place, received another grant through Sask. Lotteries, which was used to purchase a new portable speaker system. Paula Sittler, manager of Parkview Place, said the new speaker system will benefit everyone who lives or visits the facility.

“Parkview had a sound system installed with speakers in the vaulted ceiling when being built, but the acoustics were not ideal and often the residents were unable to understand the speaker.

“This new system allows the speakers to be directed at the residents, already proving to be easier for them to hear, especially during the weekly bingo games,” she added.

With the portability of the system, Sittler is excited to use it during the summer months when there are activities available on the patio.

“Last year we were able to purchase a Rocks & Rings curling set with funding from Sask. Lotteries, bringing many hours of fun and recreation to the activities programming at Parkview. We are so appreciative to receive such funding,” she added.
