Man facing weapons charges after being found with bear spray, knife

Shortly after 12 a.m. on March 11, police were called to the 200 block of 23rd Street East for a report of a man that was unconscious on a city bus; it was believed that he was under the influence of an intoxicant at the time.

SASKATOON - One man has been arrested after being found unconscious on a city bus and in possession of weapons.

Shortly after 12 a.m. on March 11, police were called to the 200 block of 23rd Street East for a report of a man that was unconscious on a city bus; it was believed that he was under the influence of an intoxicant at the time. Upon police arrival, officers made attempts to wake the man; following several attempts, the man woke up and immediately became resistant to police directions. He was ultimately arrested and removed from the bus; a search of his person found him to be in possession of bear spray and a knife. Continued investigation also determined that he was wanted on numerous outstanding warrants.

As a result, the 23-year-old man has been charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace (x2), unauthorized carry of a concealed weapon (x2), and breaching court-imposed conditions. His warrants were also executed upon his arrest.
