Police ask for public's help following armed robbery

At approximately 4:45 a.m. on Feb. 26, the Prince Albert Police Service received a report of an armed robbery of a vehicle in the 900 block of 2nd Street East.

PRINCE ALBERT - The Prince Albert Police Service and Prince Albert RCMP are investigating following an armed robbery in Prince Albert Wednesday morning.

At approximately 4:45 a.m. on Feb. 26, the Prince Albert Police Service received a report of an armed robbery of a vehicle in the 900 block of 2nd Street East.

Initial call information stated there was an armed robbery where a grey 2009 Chevrolet Silverado with Saskatchewan licence plate 916 NID was stolen.

It was reported to police the complainant met an unknown male and female at a business in the unit block of Marquis Road West and gave them a ride to the 900 block of 2nd Street East.

Upon arrival, a van pulled up behind the grey Silverado and the unknown female exited the truck and went to speak with the occupants of the van.

Shortly after, the complainant exited his truck and that’s when two males exited the van with a firearm and stole the complainant’s truck.

Approximately 30 minutes later, officers located the stolen truck in the 1500 block of 15th Street West.

Officers attempted a traffic stop; however, the vehicle began to flee from police eastbound on 15th Street West at a high rate of speed, eventually leaving Prince Albert onto Highway 2 Â鶹ÊÓƵ into the RCMP Jurisdiction.

The Prince Albert Police Service and the Prince Albert RCMP are asking the public to report all sightings of a grey 2009 Chevrolet Silverado with Saskatchewan licence plate 916 NID.

If you see the vehicle, do not approach it. Immediately contact RCMP by calling 310-RCMP or contact the Prince Albert Police Service at 306-953-4222 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
