WYCHOPEN: Gloria Wychopen passed away at the Battlefords Union Hospital on February 26, 2013, at the age of 70 years. Left to cherish Gloria's memory are her children: Cathy Wychopen (Melvin Lennie) of North Battleford, Brent (Kim) Wychopen of Calgary, Cindy (Neil) Cameron of Saskatoon, Pam Wychopen of North Battleford; grandchildren: Melanda (Laine), Spencer, Nicole, Jason, Meghan (Peter), Matthew, Robert, Jadyn, Decklin, and Kendra; great-grandson Jonathon; brother Elwin (Phyllis) Del Frari: sisters Pat (Bob) Tait, Darlene (Wayne) German, Joyce (Alvin) Thomas , Merla (Paul) Smith and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Stan and parents Peter and Kathy Del Frari. Gloria was born on September 25, 1942 in Unity, Saskatchewan. She was raised on the farm and attended Thule School, a one room schoolhouse for her elementary years. She moved to Unity to attend High School. Following High School she moved to North Battleford where she trained as a Psychiatric Nurse. It was during this time she met her husband Stan Wychopen. They were married on July 7, 1962 and began raising a family. Gloria retired from nursing in 1967 and dedicated her time to caring for her husband and four children. Once her own children were grown Gloria began a career as a Parental Caregiver at the Young Offenders Program. Around this time she also began a home-based Avon business which brought her much enjoyment for over 25 years. Gloria will be fondly remembered by many as a loving, generous person with a strong commitment to family, courageous spirit and deep rooted faith. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Battlefords Union Hospital for the compassionate care provided to Gloria over the course of her illness. They wish to acknowledge with deep appreciation the support and guidance given to the family during this difficult time. A special thank you to Dr. Lipsett for his years of service as Gloria's physician. The family also wishes to thank the staff at Sallows & McDonald - Wilson and Zehner Funeral Home for planning the funeral arrangements. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday March 2 at St. Vital Roman Catholic Church with Reverend Father Anthony Afangide MSP as celebrant.
