WILSON: Eunice Grace Wilson (Smith), Eunice Wilson died peacefully on September 9th 2013 in the palliative care ward of St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon. She left this world earlier than expected due to a diagnosis of ALS and although the journey was arduous it was mercifully fast. She had time to gather her friends and family and express not only her sadness at not being around to share their lives but her love for each and every one of them. For those that did not get to see Eunice they will take comfort in their memory of the laughter and zany antics that perpetually followed her around. People who knew her will also remember her compassion and good horse sense when it came to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Eunice was born on February 9th, 1938 in Armley, Saskatchewan, the youngest of four children to Hubert and Grace (King) Smith. She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years Bill; her children Ross (Diana) McIvor and Shannon McIvor; her children by marriage Brett Wilson, Shauna (Randy) Blackmer, Shelly (Bruce) Collins and her well loved grandchildren Justine (Lee), Brienne (Jeremy), Brennan, Kelsey (Jesse), Rebecca, Russell, Taylor, Eric and Anna as well as many nieces and nephews. Eunice graduated in 1960 from the Saskatoon City Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse throughout the province of Saskatchewan from Saskatoon north to Buffalo Narrows. Eunice and Bill's love of travel led them, their fifth wheel and their gang of friends all over the North American continent and abroad. Eunice loved high wit and music and combined the two in her long standing participation with Sweet Adeline's choruses in both North Battleford, SK and Mesa, AZ. We invite you to join us on Sunday, September 15th at 2:00 pm at the Saskatoon Funeral Home (4th Ave. & 25th St.) for a service and reception full of both tears and laughter to celebrate the life of Eunice. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation (701 Queen St. Saskatoon, SK S7K 0M7) Condolences may be sent to mail@saskatoonfuneralhome. Arrangements have been entrusted to Saskatoon Funeral Home. 244-5577 ____________________________________________________
