WEPPLER: Clara Wilhelmina Weppler peacefully passed away on November 7, 2012 one day shy of her 83rd birthday with her daughter by her side. Clara was born November 8, 1929 in the family home in the Landestreau district. She grew up on the family farm, attended Dressler School during her elementary years and completed her high school in Langenburg. Following school she worked at several clerk jobs until she fell ill with polio and could no longer work. She met and married Harry Weppler on November 8, 1962 and from this union they were blessed with the adoption of their daughter Darlene Joy on June 24, 1968. Mom was extremely talented. She was known afar for her baking for neighboring towns Fall Suppers. During these times our house was adorned with sheets of plywood housing anywhere up to 50-75 pies at one time. She also enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, knitting and crossword puzzles. Her love for flowers was evident in every place she resided. She definitely had a green thumb and with a golden touch could bring any slip to life. Two very significant people in her life were her granddaughters Arianna Joy and Alexis Rae. They were the sparkle of her eye. Despite spending the last 30 years of her life in a wheelchair she was an integral part of their life. Mom enjoyed her initial move to Meadow Sweet manor in Battleford to be closer to her girls and then her final place of residence at River Heights Lodge in North Battleford. She was forever grateful for the care she received there. The continued love and support she gave us will always be cherished as well as the special spot she holds in the hearts of many. Mom was predeceased by her parents Adam and Carolina Schmidt, her husband Harry Weppler, sisters Erna Baumung, Wilma Baumung, five brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law. Surviving are her daughter Darlene (Roger) Heggs and granddaughters Arianna Joy and Alexis Rae of North Battleford, SK. Surviving siblings are Natalia Kitz, Elenora (John) Hanchar, Rita Kitz, Marcella Adams, Arthur Schmidt and several nieces and nephews. Mother we love you, rest in Peace. Donations kindly made to the Lutheran Hour and Immanuel Lutheran Church. Card of Thanks Thank you to the staff at River Heights Lodge for proving compassionate care to mom. Thank you also to Dr. Johnson for the care he provided while she was at River Heights Lodge. Lastly a huge thank you to all the caring staff at the Lodge as well as home care whom provided care for mom since moving to the Battlefords in 2001.
