Left to cherish Carleen's memory: her loving husband of 44 years, Donald Roy Wakelin; loving children and grandchildren: Heather Wakelin (Len Hudson): Christian, Jackson, James and Madisen Kinzie; Janene McConkey (Greg): Ryan & Hudson; Blake (Nicole): Taylor & Carter; her sisters: Cheri (Jim) Macdonald and Patricia (Allen) Butt. Carleen was predeceased by her parents, Wyman Carroll and Thelma Elizabeth Yeo (Nichol); Don's parents: Roy Wellington Wakelin and Emily Ida Wakelin and Don's siblings: Alan Grant Wakelin, Marj Wakelin and Richard Wakelin. Service of Celebration and Thanksgiving for Carleen's Life was held Monday, April 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from Zion Lutheran Church, North Battleford, SK with Rev. Sheldon Gattinger officiating. Music Ministry was shared by Organist, Mrs. Edna Soule, Soloist, Robert MacKay sang "How Great Thou Art" and Hymn Selections were "Because He Lives" and "In The Garden". The Urn Bearer was Carleen's son, Blake. The Honourary Pallbearers were her Grandchildren: Christian Kinzie, Jackson Kinzie, James Kinzie, Madisen Kinzie, Ryan McConkey, Hudson McConkey, Taylor Wakelin and Carter Wakelin. Memorials are requested to The Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation Inc, or The Canadian Cancer Society. Private Family Interment took place on Monday, April 4, 2011 at Town of Battleford Cemetery, Battleford, SK. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Battlefords Funeral Service.
