WAKELIN: Mrs. Ruth Wakelin, age 92 years, passed away on June 20, 2013 at the Battlefords District Care Centre, Battleford, Saskatchewan. Funeral Service celebrating the life of Mrs. Ruth Wakelin was held on Tuesday, June 25th @ 11:00 a.m. from the Living Faith Chapel with Pastor Allan Huckabey officiating. Memorial Donations in memory of Ruth Wakelin may be directed to the Hands of Friendship Auxillary, P.O. Box 69 Battleford, Sask, SOM - OEO or to the Alzheimer Association of Saskatchewan. Interment followed the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, North Battleford. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Trevor Watts of Eternal Memories Funeral Service & Crematorium. Left to cherish Ruth's memory are her daughters Marilyn (Stan) Pietras and their children Barton Pietras and Tracy (Andrew) Keir; Judy (Mel) Walker and their children Shelly (Gerald) Kohlman and Dana (Casey) Sitter; daughter in law Francis Wakelin and her children Jane (Brad) Nowoselski, Bonny (Warren) Yost, and Charles (Leslie) Wakelin; son in law Ken Bent and his children Jason (Jo-Lynne) Bent and Cheri (Zachary) Walters; seventeen grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; her brother Bud (Marcia) Pick; and many nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by her husband of 59 years Jim in 1998; daughter Debbie Bent in 2000; son Ron in 2008; her parents William and Florence Pick; and brothers and sisters Bill, Art, Dot, Anne, Ede, Irene, Lorne, and Bob.
