ROXIE P. GETZ (BOURK) - Roxie, born November 11/1919 was called into eternal life on November 28, 2012 at Langham Senior Citizen Home at the age of 93. Daughter of JohnA. And Margaret A. Bourk, Roxie was born in Dodsland Sk and raised in Springwater. Roxie was the last surviving sibling of the '9 Rs'. Mom at the age of 12 met the love of her life, Nick Getz who was 14. After Dad returned home from 3 years overseas during WWII, they married November 11 1946 in Biggar Sk. and farmed in the Avonhill/Sagebrush District (Beadle) for 50 yrs. Roxie started teaching school at the age of 16 and continued for 11 years prior to starting a family. Roxie was predeceased by her loving husband Nick (November 28, 1996), one grandson Cole Getz, her parents and eight siblings Rhoda (Stenbeck), Ruth (McLeod), Roy, Relta (Getz), Ranel, Reginald, Raphael and Royal. Left to cherish her memory are son Lynn Getz (Alvena) grandsons Gent and Bret, daughters Myrna (Jim Nelson) and Lana (Larry Danylyshen) grandsons Chase and Keegan. Funeral Service for the late Roxie Getz will be held on Monday, December 3, 2012 @ 11:00 a.m. from the Dodsland United Church with Mrs. Marj Mack officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Town of Kindersley cemetery. Memorial Donations in memory of the late Mrs. Roxy Getz may be directed to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan or to the Kindersley Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 57 P.O.
