Left to cherish Mario's memory are Ada Pasutto (loving wife) of 65 years; children: Ron Pasutto (Marilyn), Vernon, BC.; Marina Hewson-Pasutto (Jack), Lloydminster, AB. Carol (Brian) Morrison, Battleford, SK.;Joy (Dutch) Mauws, Paradise Valley, AB. Grandchildren: Dana Pasutto (Melissa); Chelsea Pasutto; Carla Hewson (Keith); Vicky (Chris) Ross; Raina Morrison; Kallen Morrison; Kayla Mauws; Rylan Mauws. Great grandchildren: Saigen Hewson; Dreydon and Kemtrin Hewson-Booy; Taylyn and Kaylee Ross; brother-in-law Dave Leeman; nieces and nephews: Gino and Esther Bortulussi and families, Arlene Vaccher and families; Tilio Pasutto (Betty) and family, Avelino and Penny Pasutto and families, Linda Schmautz and families, Arlene (Norman) Perran, numerous relatives and friends. Mario was predeceased by parents Giovanni and Ermalina Pasutto; sister Mary (John, brother-in-law) Bortulussi; brothers Ernie (Angeline, sister-in-law) Pasutto; Primo (Phyllis, sister-in-law) Pasutto; parents-in-law, Guiseppe and Rosa Vidotto; sister-in-law Irene Leeman (Ada's sister); nieces; Darlene Leeman McCool, Gerda Pasutto; nephews: Harvey Schmautz, Lino Vaccher; great nephew: Cory McCool. Eulogy: AS READ BY DAUGHTER, JOY We gather here to say farewell to my Dad, Mario Pasutto. Dad was a devoted husband, guiding father and inspirational grandfather and great grandfather. He truly will be an icon to all of us who will continue to remember him. Dad was born May 17th, 1921 on his parent's farm, Giovanni and Ermalina Pasutto's. He was the second youngest of four children; Mary, Ernie, and Primo. After attending school at Alada and completing his grade 6, he quit school to help with work at home. In 1942 dad was called to join the Canadian Armed Forces. He traveled throughout Saskatchewan, British Columbia and New Brunswick until 1944. He was then ordered over -seas to be stationed in England, Belgium, Holland, and Germany. While stationed in Belgium the war ended just prior to his regiment being assigned to action. When dad returned to Canada in May 1946 he renewed his friendship with mom and on September 3, 1947 they were married at the Catholic Church in Baldwinton. Dad picked up where he left off farming in 1946 and in 1949 began farming on his own. Although farming had its challenges and hardships, he persisted and worked steadily providing a home for his family. Ron was born in 1949, Marina in 1954, Carol in 1960 and me, Joy, in 1963. As we sat down these past few days to reflect on dad's years and memories of him in our lives we thought you would enjoy sharing a few of them with us. Planting gardens and gardens and more gardens, fishing, mosquito bite pinches, whisker rubs, Nono's special coffee, catching moles, rounding up cattle on the dirt bikes, toothpicks that took the place of cigarettes, game shows like the Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune and most recently Jeopardy; channel surfing television sports- football, hockey, curling, playing cards, bowling, taped country music, and carpentry and oh my gosh we can't forget the Casino. Personally I remember the time we had to hurry back from British Columbia because we had a motorhome filled with fresh fruit. Dad loved his fruit- anyway... anytime. Dad was quiet and not always had a lot to say but still enjoyed the company of family and friends... especially his grandkids. But as we conclude our list of characteristics that made him so special the one common personality trait that stood out was his undeniable smile that was forever etched on his face regardless how his day was going. When asked what he would have done over again in his life if he could he said he would build houses. Well to that we say he did build a house - a very special house - one that is built of many hearts that stand together as one and have the strength to build and hold each other up, his family.
