In loving memory of Gertrude Marie O'Driscoll who was born August 13, 1931 on the Graw Farm at Garden Prairie District to Joseph and Clara Graw. She had one sister, Liz and two brothers, Otto and Rudolph. She attended the Garden Prairie School. She married Thomas O'Driscoll May 6, 1952. Like many women of her era, life was not easy. In 11 years she had 9 children. Gertrude was a young mother and wife and at one point she had six children under the age of six with two sets of twins. Gertrude was a very hard worker on the farm caring for her children, husband, brother-in-law, Pete and doing the chores as well. Gertrude was an awesome cook and baker. We all remember the long table at the farm. Many happy meals were shared around it and nobody left the table hungry. She was an active member of the C.W.L. for 62 years. In 1984 Gertrude and Thomas moved to Battleford to retire. In town she became the BLOCK Grandma to all!! She had more time for favourite hobbies and flower gardens. Thomas passed away in the fall of 1998. A few years after Thomas's passing, Gertrude moved in with her daughter Eileen, for a short time. Then moved to Meadow Sweet Manor. From there she moved to her daughter Bernadette's until her passing, December 4, 2013.
