In 1929 Mom enrolled at the newly opened high school in North Battleford , The Convent of the Child Jesus, where the order of nuns, by the same name, were teaching. Sadly mother left her Alma Mater in 1931 after only three years to help her parents on the farm. Germaine married a fellow Belgian, Cornelius Nachtegaele, on February 27, 1935. They operated a mixed farming operation and raised a family of 6 children: four daughters, Sylvia, Betty, Denise and Karen and two sons: Maurice and Leo. Germaine and Cony moved to North Battleford when Karen started school at St Joseph. They started travelling after Dad retired from farming. They travelled to places across Canada and the US and to Mexico, Jamaica but the highlight was their trip to BELGIUM. Dad passed away in January 1992, and then mom travelled with the "Snow Birds" to Yuma to enjoy the warmer climate. Our Mother was a very talented individual.
