MONTGOMERY ~ Leila Mary Montgomery passed away in Battlefords Union Hospital, North Battleford, Saskatchewan on Monday, August 26, 2013 at the age of 79 years. Leila was born March 18, 1934 to George and Hilma Gallagher on the farm near Turtle Lake, Saskatchewan. Leila leaves to mourn her passing: seven children: Brian (Cheryl), Kay (Jim), Shannon (Hugh), Cheryl (Pete), Laura (Marv), Bradly (Carmen) and Carmel (Steven); fifteen grandchildren: Kelsey (Desiree), Colby (Andrea), Krista (Colton), Jennifer, Riley (Katie), Larissa, Sara (Luke), Devin, Blair, Evan, Trevor, Carson, Courtney, Alex and Ben; nine great grandchildren; sister: Jean Niskala; and brother, Jim (Isobel) Gallagher; three sisters-in-law: Treva Blaney, Wilma Bearman and Leala Arbon; one brother-in-law: Marvin Montgomery; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Leila was predeceased by her husband, Willard Montgomery; parents, George & Hilma Gallagher; and brother, John Gallagher. The Funeral Service for Leila was conducted from the Livelong Community Hall, Livelong, Saskatchewan on Friday, August 30, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Dan Gies officiating. The eulogy was given by Kay Montgomery. The music performed during the service, solo, "Where the Roses Never Fade" and hymns, "In the Garden" and "Beyond the Sunset" were accompanied by Judy Gies. The honorary pallbearers were all those in attendance. The active pallbearers were grandchildren, Jennifer O'Hare, Devin O'Hare, Blair Whitfield, Evan Whitfield, Krista Montgomery and Carson Montgomery. Interment was held in the Livelong Cemetery, Livelong, Saskatchewan. Donations in memory of Leila may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements. Card of Thanks The Montgomery family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to all neighbors, friends and relatives for phone calls, texts, flowers, cards, donations, and to those who brought food to the house. A special thank you to Mary for the care given to mom, which enabled her to be home for one final summer. Thank you to the Doctors and Nursing Staff at the Turtleford Hospital and the Home Care Nurses. Thank you to Wayne and Betty for your visits and help this past winter. Thanks to Rev.
