LAUZON: Sister Marie Claire Lauzon died suddenly in North Battleford on August 27, 2013 at the age of 88. She will be lovingly remembered by the members of her religious family, the Sisters of The Child Jesus and the Associates; her four siblings: Hariette Levesque and Eva Combres, both of North Battleford; Roger (Aurore) of Enderby, BC; Leo (Bea) of Grande Prairie, AB and many nieces and nephews as well as by countless friends, colleagues and students. She was predeceased by her parents, Alderic and Varilda Lauzon and one sister, Florence Combres. During her long and faith-filled life, Sr. Marie Claire served in British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Quebec, but it was in North Battleford that she was most at home. After her retirement as a classroom teacher, she continued to play an active role both in her parish, St. Joseph Calasanctius, and in the community at-large. In more recent years, she was particularly loved and appreciated by the Associates of the Child Jesus, who witnessed in her quiet and gentle manner a true mentor for their personal lives. A Vigil of Prayer led by Pat Smith was held on Monday, September 2; and the Mass of Resurrection, celebrated by His Excellency Bishop Albert Thévenot, M.Afr. with Fr. Anthony Afangide, MSP as co-celebrant, took place on Tuesday, September 3, 2013. Both Services were held at St. Joseph Calasanctius Church. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Battlefords Funeral Service. (306) 446-4200 ____________________________________________________
