KOWALSKY: In Loving Memory of Thomas Kowalsky who was born Feb. 19, 1922 at home at Whitkow, SK and passed away May 22, 2011 at Battlefords Union Hospital, North Battleford, SK. Tom is survived by his children: Daughter Carol (Wilf) Lindeman, children, Natalie (Randy) Cyba, Tracey (Dave) Mamprin, their children, Nicholas and Noah, Jo-Anne Dmytruk; Daughter-in-law: RoseAnne Kowalsky, children, Anna-Marie (Noah) Evanchuk their children, Mila and Isaac, Michael and Steven; Son Dennis (Natalie) Kowalsky; daughter Muriel Kowalsky, son, Paul Struylaert; daughter Maryanne (Wayne) Silvernagle, children, Jonathon, Matthew and Natalie; his sister Carrie Tokarik; sister-in-law, Alice Kowalsky; nieces, nephews and their families. Tom was predeceased by his wife, Natalie; son, Victor, parents, Nikola and Marianna Kowalsky; brother, Peter; sisters, Katherine Malisky and Nellie Nychyk and their spouses; brother-in-law Bill Tokarik; sons-in-law, Walter Dymtruk and Peter Schrader; nephew Gordon Nychyk and great-nephew, Darrell Yuzik. Panakhyda ~ Prayer Service was held Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at "The Garden Chapel" ~ Battlefords Funeral Service, North Battleford, SK. Pokhoron ~ Funeral Service was held Wed. May 25, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. from Ukrainian Orthodox Church of St. John The Baptist, North Battleford, SK with Father Taras Udod officiating. The Cross Bearer was Granddaughter, Natalie Silvernagle and the Altar Servers were Great-Grandsons, Nicholas Mamprin & Noah Mamprin. The Cantor was Mrs. Sally Lazarowich and Epistle Reader was Mrs. Zennia Yuzik. The Pallbearers were Grandsons, Michael Kowalsky, Steven Kowalsky, Paul Struylaert, Jonathon Silvernagle, Matthew Silvernagle, Randy Cyba, David Mamprin and Noah Evanchuk. Memorials are requested to St. Peter and St. Paul Cemetery, Ukrainian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist or Donor's Choice. Interment took place at St. Peter & St. Paul Cemetery, Kindrachuk's Hills, SK . Thank you to granddaughter Natalie Silvernagle for carrying the cross and to niece Zinnia Yuzik for chanting the Epistle during the funeral mass. Thank you to grandsons Michael and Steven Kowalsky, Paul Struylaert, Jonathon and Matthew Silvernagle, Randy Cyba, Dave Mamprin and Noah Evanchuk for carrying your Digy to his final destination. Thank you to granddaughter Tracey Mamprin for making the naska. Thank you to Bob MacKay and staff at Battlefords Funeral Service for your guidance and services that always go far beyond the call of duty. Thank you everyone for your attendance at the prayers and the funeral mass, for your phone calls, food, baking for the lunch and dinner, cards, flowers & donations. Thank you to the ladies of the Presbyterian Church for serving the lunch after the Prayers & thank you to the Ukrainian Orthodox ladies for serving the dinner after the Funeral. Thank you to everyone involved in Dad's care during the past five years - Delbert & Sheila Millar and staff at Speers Oasis Special Care Home and the staff at Battlefords District Care Centre. Thank you to the staff in Emergency and the staff on 2nd Floor West at Battlefords Union Hospital for the excellent care and comfort given to dad during his last few days. God Bless All Of You.
