KOHLMANN: It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Kohlmann on Jan 4, 2013 at River Heights Lodge, North Battleford. Linda was born Oct. 10, 1949 in the Rabbit Lake Hospital to Elmer and Doris Kohlmann. Due to a birth injury., Linda was crippled and her parents spent much time and effort trying to get her help. Doris spent countless hours and drove miles seeking treatments. Elmer supported this by maintaining the farm. Together they created a beautiful yard near Shady Bay Beach on Meeting Lake. It was a welcoming home to many, many friend and relatives.Linda attended school at Athelston before going to Rabbit Lake. One of Linda's teachers, Hazel Dawson, had regularly kept in touch with her, sending cards and letters and visiting. This meant so much to Linda. Linda enjoyed living on the farm and helping to look after the chickens, sheep, cats and dogs. She also enjoyed rug hooking and did a beautiful one of their farm. Going to dances and hockey games was also important to her. In 1996, the family moved to Valleyview Towers #2 in North Battleford. Here, Linda participated in all the activities that went on. She called and played bingo, played cards - kaiser, whist and crib - entered shuffleboard tournaments and attended the special suppers but mostly enjoyed all the new friends she made. After her dad's passing, she and Doris joined the Action Now group and took the Handibus frequently to play cards and enjoy more new friends. Following her mom's passing, life was never the same for Linda. Her mom was gone and despite all the kindness and love given her, she never really got over the drastic change to her life.Linda was predeceased by her parents Elmer(1997) and Doris(2011) and cousins Roy Allen, Betty Williams and Janice Dubrule. She is survived by aunts Phyllis Jackson and Elizabeth Buckingham and cousins Ruth (Gordon) Healy, Gordon (Joan) Jackson, Lloyd (Kay) Jackson, Mal (Dolores) Buckingham, Jean (Harry) Lake and Don (Janet) Buckingham. A private graveside service and interment will be held at a later date at the Rabbit Lake Cemetery where her parents are buried. We wish to thank Dr. Johnson and all the wonderful, caring staff at River Heights Lodge. Thanks also to the patient, considerate Handibus drivers and Bob MacKay for his professional services. ____________________________________________________
