JAMES : Christo Rajan Das James "Sathe" was born on February 9, 1926 in Ootacamund India. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving friends and family on October 7, 2011. Sathe, as he was affectionately known trained as a physical ed teacher.

JAMES : Christo Rajan Das James "Sathe" was born on February 9, 1926 in Ootacamund India. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving friends and family on October 7, 2011. Sathe, as he was affectionately known trained as a physical ed teacher. He was very athletic throughout his life, enjoying tennis and golf especially. He loved music, fine food, and especially his Tim Horton's (well appointed) coffee with exactly one and half cream. Other interests included playing bridge, driving his van, and family and social gatherings. His funeral was held on Wednesday, October 12, 2011. Reverend Peter Norman officiated. music was by organist Junice Headly. Lana Quinn and Byron Olsen played the harp and guitar providing congregation with uplifting, beautiful pieces. Readings by Ranji James and Prema Greenharry. The special memories by his sons Arun, Prithvi and Rabin James highlighted Sathe's unique gifts and talents. A letter was shared by Arun, from his daughter Nina to her Tha Tha. Christopher, Natasha and Ethan recorded their piano songs for Tha Tha and he loved to hear them play. Ella drew a picture for Tha Tha which was placed near his bed for him to enjoy. Active pallbearers were Anand George, Arun, Prithvi, Rabin, Fraser Glen and Reid Stewart. Sathe is lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Florence; Children Ranji (Glenn) of North Battleford, SK. Arun (Carol) James and daughter Nina all of Virginia, Prithvi (Sandra) and children Christopher, Natasha and Ethan all of Toronto, Ont. Renu (Rick) James of Regina, and Rabin (Myrina) Rutten-James and children Ella and Amelia, all of Regina. Brothers Leo (Teckla) James, Rajar (Elaine) James, and Babu (Lucy) James; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Daniel and Nallamma James, brother Balu James and sister Kasturi Powell. The family would like to especially thank all the staff at River Heights for the excellent care of Sathe. They went above and beyond nursing, ensuring he was comfortable and yet respected his privacy. Words cannot describe how wonderful it was knowing that he was in such good hands. Right up to the end, he felt the love and professionalism of the staff. Special thanks as well to Anand and Mercy (children Deepa, Esther and Janet) George, Fraser Glen, Jill Marchand, and Prema Greedharry. The love and sup[port shown meant so much to the family, from the visits, to the final journey. The family is truly blessed to have wonderful people in our lives. Condolences were received from family and friends all over the world. The family would like to thank everyone for the kind words, flowers, and support at this time.
