HOWDLE: In loving memory of Margaret Bernice Howdle (nee Sidebottom) born September 22, 1931 on the Sidebottom Farm to George & Ada Sidebottom. Bernice passed away on July 5th, 2013 in Unity, Saskatchewan, at the age of 81. Bernice grew up in the Willow Heights area, near North Battleford with 4 brothers, Joe, Ernest, Roy & Ron and one sister, Louise. Bernice married Frank Howdle on June 16, 1948 and this past June they celebrated 65 years of married life. They raised 7 children, and are now blessed with 26 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Bernice will always be fondly remembered for her feistiness but more importantly for her caring, generosity, and strength of character. She loved to sew, knit and crotchet, especially for the little ones. A proud moment for Bernice was winning the Red Ribbon at the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede, Creative Arts & Crafts Fair for her crotched Barbie Doll Dress. Bernice loved her hats and flower barrettes and enjoyed going for meals at Parkview wearing her latest favorite one - certainly adding a few smiles & giggles along the way! Bernice also proudly owned an amazing Spoon Collection that covered one full wall in their home - spoons that came from all over the world - a collection of over 1300! Bernice's true joy came from the pleasure and unconditional love she gave and received from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as the numerous young people she got to meet through the school visits to Parkview and those she taught to knit or crotchet. A private family service was held on July 9th at Pleasant view Cemetery. Bernice's Eulogy read by Stan Weber. Active Urn Bearers: Herb and Jo Ann Howdle & family. A Tea & Celebration of Bernice's Life was held at the Adanac Hall (Unity Museum) served by Gwen's Food service. Bernice is lovingly remembered by husband Frank and their children.
