HERZOG: Ruth Ingeborg, late of Battleford, SK, passed away on August 23, 2011 at the age of 89 years. Ruth was born on March 5, 1922. She grew up in the Parkside District until the age of 10, when the family moved to Deer Ridge. Ruth spent her next years attending Deer Ridge School and helping out on the farm: driving tractor, raking hay with the horses, milking cows and all the usual chores of farm life. She met Lawrence (her husband of 64 years) in 1940 and they married after he came home from the army on Dec. 29, 1945. Ruth and Lawrence lived on the farm in Mayview until 1981, when they retired to Prince Albert. In 2004, they moved to their daughter and son-in-law's acreage in the Battlefords. Ruth has resided in the Battlefords District Care Centre since January, 2010. Ruth is survived by her children: Beverley (Morgan) Partridge of Sherwood Park, AB; son, Loren (Kathy) Herzog of Mayview, SK; daughter, Linda (Andrew) Fehr of Battleford, SK; son Verdy Herzog of Calgary, AB; daughter, Valerie (Keith) Anderson of Battleford, SK; 13 Grandsons; 9 Granddaughters; 27 Great-Grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, Sonja Herdin, Marie, Pauline and Gloria Herzog; 3 brothers-in-law, Alban, Arnold and Robert (Marie) Herzog and many nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence; her parents, Hans and Emma Herdin; her brothers, Anton (Gertrude) and Edwin; her sisters, Olga and Minnie (Herman) and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law. The Funeral Service was held at St. Vital Roman Catholic Church, Battleford, SK on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Anthony Afangide MSP, Celebrant. Interment at Mayview Cemetery will take place at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Battlefords Funeral Service.
