HANNAM: The passing of Ray Hannam of Saskatoon occurred peacefully surrounded by his family on December 31, 2012 at Sunnyside Adventist Care Centre.

HANNAM: The passing of Ray Hannam of Saskatoon occurred peacefully surrounded by his family on December 31, 2012 at Sunnyside Adventist Care Centre. Ray will be lovingly remembered by his children: Gail (Ron) Budd, Marilyn (Bob) Braun, Dianne Hannam, Les Hannam, Gary (Heather) Hannam and Brenda (Wayne) Rookes; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; sister Joyce Denluck; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Martha in 1998; and brothers Nelson, Elgin, Albert, Horace, Ted, and Jules. Ray was born on July 24, 1917 at Mere, Alberta and married Martha on December 16, 1944. Ray started his career with the CPR. He worked on the B & B Gang, as a telegrapher, and as a station agent at Wilkie, Traynor, Salvador, Denzil, Cut Knife, and Nipawin. In 1979, Ray retired and he and Martha moved to North Battleford. Ray moved to Saskatoon in 2008 where he lived until his passing. Ray belonged to the Elks and was a Past Exalted Ruler of Lodge No. 369. Throughout his life, camping with family and friends, especially at the cabin at Kimball Lake, was an integral part of his summer. Ray enjoyed outdoor activities including fishing, boating, walking, curling, and golfing. Most important to Ray was family and friends. The Memorial Service was held on Saturday, January 5, 2013 from the Chapel of Sallows and McDonald - Wilson and Zehner Funeral Home with Reverend Frances Patterson officiating. Honorary pallbearers were all of his grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ray's memory may be made to the Sunnyside Adventist Care Centre, 2200 St. Henry Avenue, Saskatoon, SK S7M 0P5 or to the Elks and Royal Purple Fund For Children, 100 - 2629, 29th Ave, Regina, SK S4S 2N9. Condolences for the family may be left at Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sallows and McDonald - Wilson and Zehner Funeral Home, North Battleford. 445-2418
