GRISTWOOD: Harold Gristwood, July 7, 1921- May 15, 2013, The family of Harold Gristwood are saddened to advise of the recent passing of a dear husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Harold was born July 7, 1921 in North Battleford and cherished fond memories of his life on James Street. As a veteran of WW11 he proudly served Canada in many battles in distant countries. He came back to share his stories at his regular "meetings at the Legion" and to long remember with cherished friends those he served with. In later years, he joined the CNR. as fireman then later joined the RCAF which took him to places throughout Canada and the far north. He retired in the rank of sergeant. After his retirement he continued to find interesting occupations until his marriage to Myrtle with whom he shared a passion of snow birding during the winters and gardening in the summers. Any other times he could found enjoying a round of golf. Never a man to pass the offer of a cold beer and a friendly chat. He loved his family and loved life. No services to be held at his request. In honor of his life, raise a glass and share a happy memory with those you cherish. The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to the staff of Villa Pacal for their excellent care, the friends and family who stopped by to spend some special time with Harold and to Eternal Memories for their services. Nicole Welford of Eternal Memories Funeral Service & Crematorium has been entrusted with the arrangements.
