GARNER: It is with our profound sadness that we announce the passing of a loving wife, devoted daughter, precious sister, aunty and friend Patricia Lynne Garner (nee Patterson) of Medstead, Patricia passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013 at the Battlefords Union Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Patricia Lynne Patterson was born May 16, 1967 to Robert and Thelma Patterson of Maymont. She was the youngest of five children. Patricia was raised on the family farm and attended Maymont School. She was involved in the community as a child, a trait that followed her throughout her life. After graduating high school Patricia attended Business College and upon completion went to work for Turner Warwick Printers in North Battleford. Patricia moved to Saskatoon where she joined the Sask Tel family as an operator and then later working in the retail store. In 2009 Patricia met Kevin Garner and she knew she had met her soul mate and the love of her life. They were married in September 2010 and made their home in Medstead. Patricia transferred to Sask Tel in North Battleford where she was employed until her passing. Anyone who ever met Patricia could not help but notice her bubbly personality, quick wit and sparkling green eyes. She loved to laugh, she loved her family and friends, she loved to shop, she loved life Patricia had a generous nature and was always willing to lend a hand or support a cause. She was an avid supporter of many causes and even prior to her own battle with cancer she was supporting the Relay for Life. During her battle with cancer Patricia remained positive, determined and her courage was an inspiration to those around her in the way she faced this challenge. Patricia was fortunate to have a strong network of family and friends along with a strong faith on which she could lean in difficult times. Patricia was laid to rest on September 11th, 2013 from the Medstead Community Hall with Rev. Jan Bigland-Pritchard presiding. Shared memories were provided by Patricia's closest and dearest friends Bev Erickson, Sandra Thompson and Dean Butcher, The poem "Footsteps" was read by Rose Radwinski. Interment was at the Medstead Lutheran Cemetery. Active Pallbearers were Terry Orange, Doug Erickson, Doug Garner, Paul Horrell, Dave Garner, and Leon Prescesky. Survived by her loving husband Kevin Garner, her father Robert Patterson, sisters Marion Patterson-Smith (William), Heather Patterson (Ron), Brenda Kelly (Tim), her brother Thomas Patterson (Joyce), Mother-in-law, Eilene Garner, brothers-in-law Doug (Patti), Dave, Kelly (Melanie), nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her mother Thelma Patterson, Her father-in-law Ross Garner. Donations in memory of the late Patricia Garner can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Sask Tel Pioneers.
