GANTEFOER: Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Magdaline "Monnie" Gantefoer of North Battleford, will be held on Monday, May 13, at 11:00 a.m. from Notre Dame de Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, North Battleford, with Reverend Father Gerard Legaspi as Celebrant. Prayer Service will be held on Sunday, May 12, at 7:00 p.m. from Notre Dame de Lourdes Roman Catholic Church with Ms. Jean Pawlus presiding. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Magdaline "Monnie" Gantefoer may be made to the St. Paul's Hospital Foundation, 1702 - 20th Street West, Saskatoon, SK S7M 0Z9 or to Masses. Magdeline (Monnie) Gantefoer, after several months of illness, sustained by the Sacrament of the Sick, died peacefully on May 5th, 2013 at St. Paul's Hospital, Saskatoon, SK surrounded by her family. She was born in Davidson, SK on March 18, 1923. She received her elementary and high school education in Davidson and Saskatoon respectively and became an RPN at the Saskatchewan Hospital, North Battleford, in 1947. She is survived by her husband Arnold, of 65 years; her children Mary Lynn (Edmonton, AB), Glen (Cheryl) (North Battleford, SK), and Susan (Vance) Lavalle (Leduc, AB); grandchildren Aaron Lavalle (Vancouver, BC), Adam and Jordan Lavalle (Edmonton, AB), Jessie and Sarah Lavalle (Leduc, AB), Darby Gantefoer and Joelle (Brad) Kuntz (North Battleford, SK); her sisters Ruth (Dan) Desnoyers (Winnipeg, MB) and Carol Pavelich (Saskatoon, SK); and numerous nieces and nephews. Monnie was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Charlotte Kergen, her infant daughter, Cathy, her brothers Nick and John and her sister Phyllis Dishaw (St. Cloud, Minn). She was a stay-at-home Mom and when her children left home she spent countless volunteer hours in her Notre Dame Parish, CWL, Marian Press (Our Family Magazine, Battleford) and Home Care. She will be forever loved and remembered for her warmth of heart, positive attitude and quick quips of "wisdom". In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Magdaline "Monnie" Gantefoer may be made to the St. Paul's Hospital Foundation, 1702 - 20th Street West, Saskatoon, SK S7M 0Z9 or to Masses. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Trevor Watts of Eternal Memories Funeral Service and Crematorium.
