DYCK: Mary Dyck (nee Perih) January 23, 1938 - July 16, 2013. It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Dyck announce her passing on July 16, 2013, at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon with family by her side. Mary is survived by her loving children: Lorna (Gordon Bland) and Ronalda (Silvano Perinotto), grandchildren Larisa and Amanda, brother and sister John Perih and Ruby Sasko, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Ronald, and parents Nestor and Sophie Perih. Mary was born on January 23, 1938. She was raised and attended school in the Louvain district, and went to Biggar for her high school education. After high school, she began working at a bank in Biggar. She met and married Ronald Dyck in 1957 and they moved to Ron's family farm near Cando to begin their life together. They moved to North Battleford in 1974, but continued to farm. She loved her two daughters, Lorna and Ronalda, and her "sons", Gordon and Silvano, but it was her two grandchildren, Larisa and Amanda, that truly made her life complete. Mary loved working in her garden and was so proud of the wonderful produce that she could provide for her family. She also was an active member of the North Battleford Action Now Senior Citizens Centre. In addition to going to the Centre almost daily to play Kaiser, Crib and Canasta, she was also the club treasurer. She went regularly to Thursday night Kaiser at the Battleford Hillcrest Centre. She also enjoyed going to the Casino. She was extremely competitive and was almost always a "winner". She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Third Avenue United Church, North Battleford, with Reverend Frances Patterson officiating. A Private Interment took place at the Cando Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations in Mary's memory may be made to: North Battleford Senior Citizens Action Now Club Inc, 1501-101st Street, North Battleford, SK., S9A 1A3. Condolences for the family may be left at We would like to thank Dr. Johnson, Dr. Khurana, and the nurses of "308W" where Mary spent the last six weeks of her life, for their care of Mary, as well as the doctors and nurses at St Paul's Hospital ICU in Saskatoon for their compassionate assistance in her final days. The family has placed their trust with Kristeen Thiessen of Sallows & McDonald - Wilson and Zehner Funeral Home, North Battleford. (306) 445-2418
