DUCHARME: Lorne Kim Ducharme July 4, 1967 - June 21, 2012 ~ It is with a profound sense of sadness and loss that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of Lorne Kim Ducharme. Lorne was a treasured son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend and will be sorely missed by all those who had the opportunity to know him. Lorne was born in Borden, SK on July 4, 1967 (A Centennial Baby) to Adolph and Bernice. He grew up on the family farm near Maymont where he spent his early years roaming the hills and valleys and fishing in the North Saskatchewan River. He attended Maymont Central School where he made many lifelong friends. Lorne worked in a variety of jobs and lived in various locations throughout Western Canada. He died tragically while working on a farm at Macoun, SK doing the kind of work he loved the most. He was a tireless and dedicated worker, never hesitating to go the extra mile to get the job done. He was a jack-of-all-trades and his skills ranged from roofing, carpentry and painting to farming - his true passion. An avid outdoorsman, Lorne spent countless hours hunting and fishing whenever the opportunity and his work would allow. His fondest memories and greatest pleasure came from the solitude and peace he found while waiting for the next bite and the ensuing fight to land the "big" fish. Lorne is survived by his mother Bernice, brothers, Brian (Shirley), Greg (Donna), Darren (Teresa) and sister, Cheryl (Bob) along with many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his father Adolph, sister, Michele and infant brother, Michael. A Funeral Service and Celebration of Lorne's Life was held at Sharon United Church, Maymont, SK on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Donations in Lorne's memory can be made to a Charity of the Donor's Choice. We wish to thank all family and friends for their support evidenced in thought, word and deed. Your kindness will always be remembered. Private interment took place at Maymont Cemetery, Maymont, SK. Arrangements were entrusted to Battlefords Funeral Service. ____________________________________________________
