CRAIG: It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Brett Adam Craig, born on Oct. 20, 1985, in North Battleford, SK and left us too early at the age of 26 on May 20, 2012, St. Walburg, SK. Left to cherish Brett's memory are his parents, Albert Craig and Jacquie Craig (Rick Spratt); his five sisters: Kerri Craig (Kris Stensrud), Jaylene Craig (Brad Johnson), Ashleigh Craig (Nathan Reis), Cassie Craig and Tristen Jacobson; grandparents: Genny Craig, Harvey Blanchette, Norene Srochenski and Gloria Blanchette; niece, Kailee Craig; nephew, Bret Halliday; all of his aunts, uncles and cousins. Brett was predeceased by his grandpa, Jim Craig; cousins, Genevieve Allford and Matthew Torresan. We come together today to celebrate the life of Brett Adam Craig. He was born on October 20, 1985 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. One thing is for sure, from the moment that Brett was born the world would be a better place. Awaiting his arrival was his proud mom Jacquie and his two very eager older sisters Kerri and Jaylene. Brett was welcomed home not only by his mom and sisters but also by his aunt Cindy, uncle Kelly and cousins Genevieve, Matthew and Brendan who lived right across the street. Brett was the man of the house for a long time, and then his mom met the man we all now know as dad, Albert. When Brett was five years old his first baby sister Ashleigh, made her arrival into his world. Two years later mom and dad brought home his second baby sister, Cassie. Finally his last baby sister, Tristen, was born when he was 13. And little did he know, another baby girl, his niece Kailee would arrive to his family in a house already full of women. Boy was he grateful when his nephew, little Bret, came along. Finally he could share his love of legos with someone. His family didn't stop with blood relatives but always grew with the addition of each and every one of his amazing friends. Brett attended kindergarten at St. Vital Elementary School and then went on to attend junior high in Battleford, Saskatchewan. He graduated in 2005 from the Comprehensive High School in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. His first job was working on bikes. He thought it was pretty cool to get paid for doing something that he loved. Brett was a jack of all trades and had a number of jobs, the last being at GLM tanks. Brett received his first bike when he was 3 years old and his first bmx bike when he was in junior high. From that time on his life was all about riding his bike. If you spent any time at all at the skate park you knew who Brett Craig "aka Parkdog" was. Brett was fearless on his bike, always saying "you won't get hurt if you know the right way to fall". He was a role model to the younger kids that hung out at the park, teaching them tricks, fixing their bikes or being someone that they could look up to. Brett meant something different to each person here today, but one thing is for sure.......he touched each of our hearts. He was extremely generous - not only would he fix your bike, but he would mail a bike half way across the world for his good buddy to enjoy. Brett loved the ladies, his mom, his sisters, his niece and whichever bmx bike he called his mistress at that time. He loved his bikes so much - he even took the time to name each one of them. Not only was Brett all about bmxing but also his friends. You can tell a lot about a person by the people they surround themselves with and Brett had some of the best friends in the world. Let us not remember Brett for the way that he passed, but more for the way that He lived, Ride on Parkdog, We love you brother always and forever.
