BURTON: The family of Noreen Burton (Noni) is very saddened to announce her passing on November 18th, 2012, at the age of 79 years old. Noni was born on October 26th, 1933 to Bill & Muriel Kitson , living most of her life in the Plenty district. She always spoke of her early years as a wonderful time in her life within the love of her family and community, growing up with friends that remained in place to this day. She was proud of her Mother and Father for being so hard working & resourceful during those many lean years. Many of those same work ethics we saw in Mom. . Noni married her childhood sweetheart, Peter Burton on November 28th, 1951, followed with a honeymoon at Niagara Falls. She cherished this time of her life a s wife, Mother and then grandmother. She and Dad enjoyed life to the fullest-square-dancing; curling; golfing; enjoying their farm and cabin at Jackfish Lake. She worked in the summers at the lake for many years-- First at the Jackfish Lodge Golf Course, then at the Battleford Provincial Park gates, then later at the beach store. Because of her personality and spirit, Noni developed great friendships with all ages over the years. Her wit and humor will always be remembered along with her perseverance and courage through the difficult times in her life. She developed a close bond with all of her grandchildren, which will be always remembered.. Noni enjoyed and excelled at many pastimes in her life. Her beautiful paintings that grace many walls, will be treasured forever. Knitting, golfing, and curling were also favored hobbies. Noni was pre-deceased by her parents and her loving husband Peter. She is survived by her children and grandchildren: Sally (Allan) Germsheid and their children Patricia(Gordon); Mark(Mary) Carson and Haylee; Ted (Brenda) and their children Brooke (Mike) Presley, Keira and Cooper; Bekki (Troy); Scott (Roselle) and their children Jenni(Rui) Sophia and Sloane; Chad; Emily & Ben.
