BELOIN: Lorraine Marie (nee Pouzache) September 25, 1920 - October 29, 2011 Our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully with family at her side at Poplar Courts, Wilkie, SK. on Saturday, October 29th at the age of 91. Lorraine was born September 25, 1920 in Delmas, Saskatchewan to Paul & Jane Pouzache. At a young age she moved with her family to Highgate where she grew up with sister Marguerite and brother Martin. In spite of hard times, Mom had many good memories of those years, growing up in the family store/pool hall, meeting the trains, ballgames, sledding and picking berries in the coulee, riding her pony to get the cows and making life-long friends. Lorraine married Louis Beloin in 1947 and began married life on the old Beloin farm in Delmas where their four girls were born. In 1953 they bought a farm in Handel where they lived for almost 50 years. The family grew with the addition of three sons. In 1962 they suffered the loss of their oldest daughter, Bertha. In 2001, Mom and Dad moved to Wilkie and after Dad's passing Mom spent her last years in Bethany and Poplar Courts. In later years Mom and Dad enjoyed a few trips to warmer climates but she was quite content to stay close to home spending time with family and friends. Mom was a quiet, gentle person who enjoyed the simple things in life - sunrises and sunsets, the changes of the seasons and the moon, the birds singing and cuddling a new grandchild. She enjoyed a good cup of tea, knitting, doing crossword puzzles, game shows, listening to the radio and a good game of cards. She enjoyed dancing and was known to do an Irish jig in the kitchen with her grandkids. Mom will be remembered for her love of the family, her kind caring ways, her fabulous memory for birthdays, her thoughtful notes and words of wisdom, her sense of humor and infectious laugh and great homemade bread. Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, brother and sister, her loving husband Louis and daughter Bertha. She is survived by her six children, 16 Grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchildren. Maggie (Jim) Reid their daughers: Sarah (Scott) and Loranna Martin; Nicki (Ryan) and Vayda Engler; and Jamie Reid (Dusty). Pat (Ed) Holzman, their children Jeff (Carissa) Holzman Taylor, Jack and Beckett; and Jodi Holzman. Louise Beloin, Raymond (Carla) Beloin and their children Jessica (Keith) Bailey and Zoey Baker; Jenni (Eldon) Nola and Nova Warner; Amanda and Lexi Beloin; and Alex (Susan) and Marissa Beloin. Joe (Barb) Jared, Karen and Derek Beloin. Alan (June) Ami, Josh, A.J. Walker and Christopher Beloin. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law and dear friends. Sleep peacefully Mom - we love you. Donations to Poplar Courts Activities or Bethany Enhanced Living or charity of your choice. ____________________________________________________
