BEATON: Mabel Irene Beaton of North Battleford, SK passed away peacefully on January 18, 2012 at the age of 97. Mabel was born August 29, 1914 on a farm near Herschel, SK to Malcolm and Martha Beaton. She was raised in Herschel, and as a young woman attended Bethel Bible Institute in Saskatoon and also worked there in the kitchen in the early 1940s. From there she went to North Battleford to work as a cook for the Sharon Orphanage, from which she retired in 1973. Mabel moved to Victoria, BC until 1995, when she moved back to North Battleford, where she resided until now. Mabel was predeceased by her parents, Malcolm and Martha (Pringle) Beaton, sister Gladys McAmmond, brothers Carl (Amy) Beaton, Angus (Helen) Beaton, Walter Beaton, nephews Lyle Beaton, Bob Beaton, Vern Beaton and niece Marlene Beaton. Mabel leaves to mourn her very good friend Margaret Waddington, whom she helped raise from infancy, sister in law Elsie Beaton, nieces and nephews; Donald and Velma Beaton, Allan and Brenda Beaton, Thelma and Ken Neilson, Peggy and Neil Heatherington, John Beaton, Dorothy and Ed Graham, Ron and Anne Beaton, Lowell and Gail Beaton, Christine (Vern) Beaton, Jim and Gerri McAmmond, Dave and Norma McAmmond, Ivan and Elaine McAmmond, Dorothy and Eldon Friesen, Walter and Sandra McAmmond, Elaine and Herb Price, Willie and Josie McAmmond, Lloyd and Debbie McAmmond and numerous great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Sharon Schools on Airport Road, North Battleford on Saturday, March 10th, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements made by Battlefords Funeral Services. ____________________________________________________
