BEACH , ROBERT HENRY: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Robert Henry Beach, on Friday, March 23, 2012 at Battlefords Union Hospital, North Battleford, SK after a short struggle with cancer. Robert (Bob) was born on July 12, 1932 in Banff, Alberta. His mother died when Bob was an infant and he and his brother were raised by his maternal grandparents and later by an aunt and uncle in southern Saskatchewan. His uncle, being a CNR station agent, taught Bob the Morse Code and he began employment with the CNR in 1949 and retired in 1989 (40 years). He worked as a station agent and moved to various places in Saskatchewan and Churchill, MB. His last posting, when the rural stations closed, was North Battleford where he worked as a clerk until retirement. Bob enjoyed golfing, curling and fishing in his leisure time and made many good friends along the way. Bob and Margaret enjoyed their time together, making many trips all over the United States and Canada visiting with family and friends. They spent many winters in Mesa, Arizona. They made many visits with Bob's brother and family in PEI and New Brunswick. A Celebration of Life Reception for Bob was held in the North Battleford Royal Canadian Legion Hall, Branch 70 on March 30, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. A private interment took place at the North Battleford City Cemetery on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Ross Odnokon (Grandson) officiating. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Margaret; his sons: Bryan (Kathy), Owen, Robert; his daughter, Kerry and their mother, June; his step-children: Sandra (Glen) Crest, Kathy (Bryan) Beach, Janet (Floyd) Odnokon, Robin Stewart; grandchildren: Jamie (Sherlyn), Jarret, Jennessa, Rachel, Ross (Kara), Robert (Kailey), Clarke, Brittany, Katelyn; great-grandsons: Kazz and Tyler; also survived by his brother, David Beach, Uncle Cameron and Aunt Beatrice Sylvester and Aunt Julie Christopherson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents David and Alice Beach and granddaughter, Kasha.
