ALSAGER, Irene Edith June 21, 1919 - January 14, 2012 Irene was one of seven children born to Edith and Carl Grahn, north of Lloydminster, SK. She married Ted Alsager and spent fifty-eight years working tirelessly beside him on their Idanell Korner Ranch in Maidstone, SK., raising five children and building a successful farming operation. In the early 1980's Irene spent much time on the family-owned Gang Ranch in BC., throwing her energies, strength, and endless humour into the operation there, especially the cookhouse. She loved to make people laugh, and put other's needs in front of her own. She was a true matriarch. After Ted's death in 1998, Irene moved to reside with daughter Judy (Richard) on her farm near Williams Lake. She remained there, enriching everyone's lives around her with her humour and her undying love, until her peaceful passing.Irene was predeceased by son Oren (1983), husband Ted (1998), grandson Shan (2002), daughter Donna (2011), brother Stanley and sister Hilda. She is survived by sons Dale (Betty) of Maple Valley, WA, USA, Rick (Suzanne) of Maidstone, SK.; daughter Judy (Richard) of Williams Lake; brothers Ernest and Arthur; sisters Ruth and Louise, sixteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
