A 1-5-0-1 record isn't exactly ideal for a team with high expectations heading into the 2010-11 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League season.

The Battleford North Stars lost their final game of the pre-season Tuesday night in Humboldt against the Broncos by an 8-5 score.

Shayne Morrissey was the North Stars' top offensive player with two goals, while Josh Daley, Calder Neufeld and Vince Sauvie had single markers.

Garrett Montour and Blair Mahon split time in net and either could be the starter for the North Stars home opener Saturday against Kindersley.

The North Stars skated Wednesday morning and an unofficial opening day roster should be know Thursday morning at the teams Kick Off Breakfast at the Civic Centre.
