The North Battleford Comprehensive High School Vikings played an undefeated team for the third time this season and for the third time they suffered a lopsided loss.

The Vikings played the Evan Hardy Souls Thursday in Saskatoon and despite taking the early lead, NBCHS couldn't build on it. After being shut out a week earlier, the Vikings came ready to play and scored on a Dylan Chadwick 22-yard field goal.

Later in the first quarter, Evan Harder capped off a drive with a one-yard rushing play. The convert was good and Evan Hardy led 7-3 after the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Evan Hardy scored 17 straight points. First, they punched in a touchdown from the one-yard line and kicked the convert, then kicked a 24-yard field goal and scored on a 33-yard passing play.

With the score 24-3, the Vikings got a spark as Cole Omelchenko, recorded over half his total passing yards with an 83-yard catch and run play to Cody Buziak. Chadwick also nailed the convert.

Before the half, Evan Hardy added a single point and the score was 25-10.

Evan Hardy scored nine points in the third quarter thanks to a rushing touchdown, a convert and a safety.

The Vikings didn't have an answer for the high-powered Evan Hardy team and gave up 17 points in the fourth quarter making it a 51-10 final.

The Vikings top rusher was Cole Tenetiuk, who had eight carries for 56 yards - the Vikings had 71 total yards rushing on the day. Through the air, Omelchenko passed for 154 yards and Lyle Stepanic had three catches for 44 yards. Linebacker Pita Tuiloma led the defence with seven tackles.

Evan Hardy led in all stat categories, as they earned their fourth win of the season. They had 27 first downs compared to the Vikings 9, 139 rushing yards, 231 passing yards and an interception.

Fortunately for the Vikings their next game is against another 0-3 team, as they will be in Saskatoon Thursday to play Tommy Douglas.

The Vikings final three games will be against teams with losing records.
