The 2011 Canada Winter Games is underway from February 11-27 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Athletes from the Humboldt region are competing at the Games as part of Team Sask.
Cassandra Wilson-Anderson of Naicam and Aerial Arthur of Saskatoon teamed up to win the gold medal in the women's team event in the air rifle competition.
Wilson-Anderson also picked up a bronze medal in the women's individual target shooting event, scoring 484.1 points.
Drew Nevland of Birch Hills and Jeremy Gyoerick of Prince Albert finished sixth in the men's team air pistol competition.
Ryan Bernhard of Muenster finished 18th in the men's 5,000 metre long track with a time of 8:12.55, then finished 11th in the men's long track speedskating 1,500 metre race with a time of 2:09.890.
Bernhard then finished fifth in the men's 500 metre race with a time of 1:19.510, and came in 17th in the men's long track 3,000 metre race with a time of 4:43.870.
He was also a member of Team Saskatchewan in the 3,000 m men's team pursuit, who claimed the silver medal. His teammates included Axel Morin of Regina, Pieter Stoffel of Saskatoon, and Michael Wrubleski of Regina.
Bernhard also finished sixth in the male 100 metre race in long track speedskating with a time of 10.950.
In Target Shooting, Drew Nevland of Birch Hills placed seventh in the Male Individual Air Pistol event.
Jarrett Fontaine of Humboldt and Jordan Tkatch of Prud'Homme were on the Team Saskatchewan male hockey team. Saskatchewan lost to Manitoba 6-1 and then lost to Alberta 4-0 in their first two games.
Team Sask then defeated New Brunswick 5-3 to end the round robin portion of play with a 1-2 record.
Saskatchewan met Quebec in the quarter-final round, but lost 4-3. The loss dropped Team Sask to the Relegation round where they faced New Brunswick on February 17.
The Saskatchewan team won the game over New Brunswick 4-0, and was set to play Manitoba for fifth place on February 18.
