The Battlefords and District Ladies' Fastball League MVPs were honoured Monday night between playoff games at the Flats.

It was mostly pitchers receiving the league honours, but a few position players also made the cut.

From the Battlefords Ladies Survivors Laurel Whitehead-Pauls, the person who pitched the majority of the Survivors games was their team representative.

The Battlefords Bantam Bandits also had a pitcher earned the MVP award. Sydney Rempel, who also is one of the team better batters won the award.

The Edam Ladies' Tami Duhaime was again selected as the team's MVP. Tami has won the award as long as I have been covering the league and shows now signs of slowing down as she pitches half the teams games and is solid in the field while supplying plenty of offence.

Sticking with the team of pitchers, the Unity Bantam Panthers MVP was Kelsey Wildeman.

The Edam Midget Blue Sox recipiant was Amelia McCaffrey. The pitcher/first baseman has had her offence improve this season and he pitching continue to dominate in the league and tournaments this season.

The Unity Midget Panthers winner was Taylor Timmermans. She is the teams catcher and force at the plate.

Last but not least, was Tessa Weum of the Northwest Junior Vipers. Tessa had a big bat for the Vipers in their first season of existence last season and has been a steady part of the batting order once again this season. This was the Vipers first season in the Battlefords and District Ladies; Fastball League.

One other note on the Vipers is that they played in a tournament last weekend and placed third after losing out of in the semi finals.

The Vipers will be in Saskatoon for Junior B Provincial Championship July 9 to 11. The Unity Midget Panthers will be in Regina this weekend for the midget B provincial championship with the nine teams playing off for a chance to advance to Western Canadians. The Battlefords Bantam Bandits will be at provincials in Moosomin this weekend. The Edam Blue Sox will be in Kindersley July 9 to 11 for Midget C provincials.
