One team, either Meath Park or Hafford, were going to win their first game of the season on their final try, as they faced off in six-man football Oct. 21.

The game began with the Hafford Vikings forcing a quick three-and-out and then marched the ball on the ensuing drive. That drive was stalled and a third down gamble led to a turnover on downs.

Meath Park was forced to punt from deep in their territory on the next drive, but it was blocked and recovered by Ty Dishko of Hafford inside the Meath Park 10 yard line. From there, the Vikings' quarterback Cole Janostin connected with Braden Kowalchuk for the game's first touchdown. The convert went wide, but Hafford led 6-0.

The next drive, Meath Park completed five passes and put the ball in the endzone tying the game 6-6.

On the third straight drive a touchdown was scored, this time by Hafford on a reverse. Clay Casavant covered nearly 70 yards for the major and Hafford was back in the led 12-6.

Meath Park looked to respond the next drive, but the Hafford defence stepped up, as Chase Crawford earned a sack. The next snap, Travis Spriggs hurried the quarterback the and the Vikings forced a turnover on downs.

In the second quarter, the teams traded the ball back and forth while Hafford's defence was playing strongly, keeping them in the lead. Kowalchuk earned a sack, which led to another turnover on downs and Hafford final connected on offence once again late in the second quarter.

The Vikings hooked up on a flea-flicker for an amazing 60-yard touchdown, but a penalty brought the play back for Hafford. The next play they tossed the ball to the sideline. After Meath Park defenders surrounded Casavant, he broke a tackle and scampered in for the major, putting Hafford in the lead 20-6 at half time.

Hafford made a run late in the forth quarter and scored a touchdown and convert in the final five minutes making it a 20-14 game.

Fortunately Hafford was able to run out the clock thanks to some handoffs to Vincent Kohut and the sunny Thursday afternoon game ended up 20-14 for the home side.
