North Battleford Comprehensive High School senior girls basketball team placed fourth at provincials last season with a team, which only graduated a few players.
Could this be the year the girls medal at provincial? It is obviously is too early to tell for Bryan Cottini's team, but they did start the season just as they would've wanted.
The Vikings' first tournament was in Regina on the weekend and they earned the gold medal. The Vikings beat Shanovan, Prince Albert Carlton and Regina O'neil on their way to winning the tournament.
This weekend the team heads to Yorkton for another tournament and Dec. 7 will be the first time they play in the Battlefords, as they host Holy Rosary.
