November proved to be a busy month for the Battlefords North Stars, as they played 15 games and tried to put the slow start to the season behind them.
One of the reasons the North Stars did win nine games this month was because of the play of defenceman Chris Neurauter. Neurauter was given the North Stars' C earlier in November and proved his teammates, who voted him in, to be right. Neurauter had 11 points in 14 games and was a strong defensive force.
Neurauter has 22 points this season and is tied for sixth on the team in points.
The North Stars will likely be handing out their player of the month award Friday and they could be hard pressed to find a better choice for the team's honour, as Neurauter could be a double winner for his play in Novmeber.
Notable mentions for the SJHL defenceman of the month include Tanner Korchinski of Flin Flon, Casey Rogers of Kindersley and Byron Sorensen of La Ronge.
Travis Eggum of La Ronge was the player of the month, Yorkton's Devin Peters was the goaltender of the month and Davis Vandane of Yorkton was the rookie of the month.
