Battlefords Minor Hockey report

Midget A Barons The Barons #2 had a successful weekend, as they won 7-5 in Debden Friday night and tied Spiritwood Saturday. The 8-5-3 Barons were also scheduled to host the Meadow Lake Storm Sunday.

Midget A Barons

The Barons #2 had a successful weekend, as they won 7-5 in Debden Friday night and tied Spiritwood Saturday.

The 8-5-3 Barons were also scheduled to host the Meadow Lake Storm Sunday. This weekend, the Barons travel to Meadow Lake Saturday and host Edam Sunday.

The Barons #1 are sitting at 5-10-2 after losing 1-0 in Big River Saturday.

The Barons host Spiritwood Saturday and will wrap up the regular season with a game in Edam Jan. 30.

Bantam AA Barons

After losing on home ice the Barons went back to Warman for their provincial playoff series and lost 6-0. The final two-game total-goal series ended up 17-1, as the Barons were eliminated.

In regular season action, the Barons were in Humboldt for two games this weekend. Saturday, they lost 7-1 and 10-5 Sunday.

This week the 4-9-2 Barons will be at home Friday against Unity and will head to Unity Sunday.

Bantam A Barons

The STEP League Barons lost 13-3 Saturday and fell to 4-5-1 on the season.

Sunday, the Barons will be in Edam.

The Hi-Way 14 Barons were scheduled for a busy weekend with a Friday night game in Kindersley, Saturday in Conquest and Sunday in the Battlefords against EEL. Those scores were not yet recorded, but this weekend two more games are on the schedule, as the Barons host Elrose/Biggar Friday and Sunday, they travel to Kerrobert.

The Barons will wrap up their regular season Feb. 4 in Biggar.

Peewee AA Barons

The Barons played game one of their provincial series in Prince Albert days before their annual tournament in the Battlefords.

The Barons fell 6-4 to Prince Albert after Brandon Lesko scored twice and Jared Schmidt and Jayden Nachtegaele had singles. Mathew Flath was in net for the Barons.

The return game in the series is Saturday at 8:15 p.m. at the Don Ross Arena.

As for the tournament, the Barons took the B final in a highly competitive tournament Sunday afternoon.

Peewee Sharks

The Sharks played in two defensive battles this past weekend. The first game Saturday in Lloydminster produced a 2-2 tie with the Lloydminster Wizard Wells. Caylin Edwards led the Sharks in scoring with a goal and an assist. Jordyn Tuck scored the other Sharks' goal.

Sunday, the Sharks travelled to Pierceland where they lost 2-1. Morgan Lamontagne scored the lone Sharks' goal.

This weekend the Sharks will head to Vermilion for a tournament and the Sharks will close out league play the following weekend with a home game Jan. 29.

Atom AA Barons

The Barons lost twice on the weekend, but overall, the two games showed the vast improvements the Barons have made this season.

Saturday, the Barons fell 10-5 to the Saskatoon Renegade and Sunday, they dropped a 5-2 decision to the Martensville Marauders.

The next action is a tournament in Waldheim.
