The Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame in Battleford is seeking nominations for this year's inductees.
The deadline is March 15. The Hall is seeking nominees in a number of different categories. Those include Individual (player/builder), Team, Family, and Community.
If you have an idea for who should be nominated, you can call 306-446-1983 or email at [email protected].
March 15 is also the nomination deadline for the Maroniuk/Marcoux Scholarship Award. The award is for $200 and will be presented at the annual Induction ceremony on August 20, 2011.
The scholarship began in 2001 as a $100 award, and is presented annually to a young baseball player 12 years or under, to assist in his or her dedication and determination to develop his or her natural outstanding baseball abilities.
The five-year award is made possible through a donation in memory of the late John Maroniuk of Prince Albert, made by a friend and Hall of Fame supporter, Grant Marcoux of Saskatoon. Following completion of the five-year Maroniuk Award the scholarship was continued as the Maroniuk/Marcoux Award representing both individuals for their contribution to Saskatchewan baseball heritage.
Again, contact 306-446-1983 or email at [email protected] if you wish to nominate a candidate.
