The original seven community organizations involved with the North Battleford public skating programs stepped up for their fourth year of sponsorship recently, and, days later, another organization, North Battleford Elks, joined the team.

The Elks felt it was a great idea and were happy to jump on board with the other organizations, which help to offer free public skating and shinny in North Battleford's three hockey arenas.

Bill Samborski, North Battleford recreation facility manager, said the Elks approached him and were interested in the program and he was appreciative and happy to sign them to the sponsorship team.

The Elks' donation will help cover a new feature this season - a commissionaire at the most Monday night skates said Samborski.
