Woman dead in grid road rollover

A 23-year-old woman is dead after a single-vehicle rollover in the early hours Wednesday. According to WPD Ambulance the crash happened around 3 a.m. approximately 36 km east of North Battleford.

According to WPD Ambulance the crash happened around 3 a.m. approximately 36 km east of North Battleford. RCMP say the incident involved a pickup truck which rolled over on the No. 376 grid road near the community of Mayfair. Both WPD Ambulance and Blaine Lake RCMP responded to the scene.

On arrival, paramedics from WPD found two patients, one man and one woman. The 23-year-old woman was transported to North Battleford, but was pronounced dead due to the injuries sustained in the collision.

According to the RCMP, the woman was from Harris and was the passenger in the vehicle. The 25-year-old driver from Richard was transported to Battlefords Union Hospital where he remains in stable condition.

RCMP say both occupants were thrown from the truck. Police say neither the driver nor the passenger were wearing seat belts.

No names have been released.

The incident remains under investigation by Blaine Lake RCMP. The RCMP Traffic reconstructionist from Prince Albert was called in to assist.
