The City of North Battleford is urging local residents to be on the lookout for animals both inside and outside city limits.
The fall marks the onset of mating season for many species in the Northwest, and local residents are being urged to be on the lookout for wildlife on the move.
"If you see animals roaming out of their regular elements, such as moose, coyotes and deer, it is important to leave them alone," said Special Constable Jerry Koliniak.
"Never approach wildlife, because in unfamiliar surroundings and during mating season, their behaviour can be unpredictable."
Residents are being urged to contact either the special constables or the RCMP if wildlife is seen on the streets or alleyways. The City special constables can be reached at 445-1775 and Saskatchewan Environment and Resource Management can be reached at 446-7416.
As well, there are increased reports during the fall months of wildlife on the highway. Motorists using area highways are urged to be on the lookout for deer, moose and elk.
