VISCOUNT — This week, Blankets for Canada delivered 11 baby blankets, two lovely cushions and 25 adult/youth blankets to both Saskatoon and Regina.
We will be meeting for the next two Wednesdays in May before taking a break for the summer. On Wednesday, May 18, there were four ladies. We had so much fun recounting stories and having good laughs while working on the blankets. As always, we appreciate donations of synthetic yarn as well as knitted and or crocheted 8"x8" squares. An adult blanket uses 48 squares of this size, making it a 6x8. A youth blanket uses 35 squares of the same size, making it a 5x7, and a baby blanket uses 25 making it a 5x5.
Please feel free to call Evelina at 306 944-4820 should you like more information. We welcome all to join us even if you just would like to visit and watch.
The Great Grandma Program at Viscount Central School had its first 'reading buddies' on Wednesday, May 18, in the morning. We were unable to meet with our 'Great Grandchild' in person over the last two years due to COVID, so it sure was wonderful to meet them today. This is a pen pal program for the Grade 3s and 4s to help them learn to address and write letters and improve both their handwriting and their reading.
Dancing Sky Theatre just finished their first indoor production since COVID. It was a most entertaining show called 'Jonas and Barry in the Home'. Written by well-known Canadian playwrite Norm Foster and performed by Kent Allen, Blaine Hart and Abby Thiessen. It was one of my very favourite plays thus far; very thoughtful, very funny and very well acted. (submitted by Evelina)
Well we managed to get away on the May long, and enjoyed a weekend of nice weather and camping, as usual the nights were fairly cold. Even took in a few garage sales that were on at the lake. Looks like planting, and seeding is under way. It's probably time I get my garden planted.
Best wishes to anyone that might be under the weather. Have a great week stay safe and enjoy all that you can.
