SASKATOON - Two people were arrested and face weapons charges after a firearm was discharged in Saskatoon.
On Aug. 26 at around 7:20 p.m. police were called to the 100 block of Avenue P North for a weapons complaint. Initial information stated a man and woman slashed a tire and when confronted, pulled out and discharged a firearm into the air.
Upon arrival, officers were able to speak with the victims. Shortly after, police located and arrested the suspects without incident a few blocks away.
After searching the male suspect, police recovered a loaded firearm, additional ammunition, bear spray, a folding knife, and methamphetamine. The female suspect was also found to be in possession of bear spray, and methamphetamine.
As a result, a 25-year-old man is facing charges relating to discharging a firearm while being reckless as to the life or safety of another person, and several firearms and weapons charges. The 23-year-old woman is facing charges involving possession of a weapon, concealing a weapon, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), mischief, and failure to comply with court-ordered conditions.
