Emergency crews were on the scene Friday afternoon at the Canadian Tire parking lot, responding to a truck fire.

The call came in at 12:42 p.m. On arrival, fire crews found that the owner of the vehicle had controlled the fire with the assistance of a portable extinguisher supplied by Canadian Tire staff.

The fire caused damage to the interior of the truck, described as an older-model Chevrolet. The pre-incident value of the truck is estimated at over $1,000, and fire officials report that the fire likely resulted in a total loss.
