Town of Battleford employees honoured with SUMA service awards

Well-deserved recognition for employees from the town of Battleford at this week’s SUMA convention.

REGINA — A number of long-serving town of Battleford employees are being honoured by Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association.

They were scheduled to honoured with the Meritorious Service Awards presented by the SUMA board of directors at the president’s banquet and awards ceremony, to be presented Tuesday night in the Grand Ballroom, Queensbury Convention Centre, Regina. 

These awards are granted to municipal staff members with 20 or more years of service. 

The Battleford recipients are:

Eric Bilanski, Public Works manager -30 years;

Bernadette Leslie, Fred Light Museum manager - 42 years;

Larry Gabruch, fire chief - 41 years;

Les Herle, operator - 28 years;

Noreen Hoffart, executive assistant - 32 years.

According to SUMA the award “recognizes their career success, dedication and involvement in their local communities.

“These award recipients are outstanding individuals who have become role models in their communities. Through their long service, they have made a valuable contribution to the success of their municipalities. They strive for an improved quality of life through a strong local government.”
