WARMAN — The Nov. 13 election has brought a major shake-up on the Prairie Spirit School Division board, with six of the 11 subdivisions now represented by new trustees.

Incumbents were defeated by their challengers in three subdivisions. For instance, Subdivision 1 (Blaine Lake, Laird, Leask and Waldheim) will now be represented by Wendy Friesen, who defeated incumbent Pamela Wieler by a count of 252 votes to 166.

In Subdivision 6 (Delisle, Pike Lake, Vanscoy and Willow Park Colony), Shelby Poggemiller overcame long-time board chair Bernard Howe. Poggemiller received 176 votes while Howe got 120.

Finally, in Subdivision 8 (Aberdeen, Allan and Colonsay), Michael Richards defeated Grace Wudrick after he received 237 votes to Wudrick’s 135.

The only trustee to be successfully re-elected was Subdivision 4 (Dalmeny, Hepburn, Osler) trustee Christa-Ann Willems, who defeated challenger Carrie Lalonde. Willems received 273 votes while Lalonde got 53.

In Subdivision 5 (Asquith, Perdue and Eagle Creek), newcomer Cindy Friesen was acclaimed.

In Subdivision 7 (Clavet, Dundurn and Hanley), the vacant seat will be filled by Bernard Martineau, who received 122 votes.

Fellow challengers Rhonda Lavoie and Michelle Spray received 75 and 80 votes respectively.
