SASKATOON - The Saskatoon Police Service canine unit chased down a suspect following an alleged break and enter in the Bridge City early Saturday.
On July 13 at about 12:40 a.m. police responded to a report of a break and enter in progress on the 2100 block of 17th Street West.
When they arrived, officers noticed damage to multiple areas of the home.
Police located the suspect inside the home and tried to detain him. However, the man didn't comply with police orders.
Officers then used the K-9 police dog unit, which helped them apprehend him.
The 46-year-old male suspect was arrested and transported to hospital for treatment of his injuries consistent with a dog bite. He was later transported to police detention and is facing charges relating to prowling at night, break and enter, and possession of a weapon.
