Road crews dealing with glare ice in Battlefords

Public urged to exercise caution as nasty winter weather hits.

BATTLEFORDS – Icy roads continue to be an issue in and around the Battlefords, and by the looks of our long range forecast, things are expected to get worse.

"City of North Battleford road crews have been addressing glare ice road conditions for most of Thursday, but the upcoming weather forecast means that conditions of City roads and sidewalks will be cause for concern into Friday," said Candace Toma, Public & Intergovernmental Relations Coordinator with the City of North Battleford.

Environment Canada is forecasting rain, high winds, and a sharp decrease in temperatures overnight Thursday, Jan. 26 and into Friday, Jan. 27 morning.

"As such, the City of North Battleford asks that motorists allow for extra travel time on Friday morning to arrive safely at their destinations," Toma said.
